Behind the Easel

Welcome to The Pink Hen! My name is Jordan O'Brien, I am a chicken farmer, artist, and homesteader based in the picturesque landscapes of South County, Rhode Island. My life revolves around a deep connection to the natural world, a love for art, and a passion for sustainable living.

The Pink Hen is more than just a brand; it’s a reflection of my way of life. From my thriving chicken coop to the designs I create, everything is infused with care, dedication, and authenticity. As an artist, I find inspiration in the vibrant beauty of nature and the charm of rural living. My designs capture this essence and are available for purchase online, bringing a touch of the farmstead to your home.

When I’m not immersed in my art, you can find me tending to my beloved hens, cultivating my garden, baking delicious treats, or working on projects around the homestead. Each day is guided by a commitment to excellence, whether it’s producing nutritious eggs from happy, well-cared-for hens or crafting art that tells a story.

As an avid supporter of clean, wholesome food, I believe that the care and respect we show for the agricultural world directly impact the quality of the food we produce. At The Pink Hen, this philosophy is at the heart of everything I do. Happy hens lay healthy eggs, and I strive to nurture both my flock and my creative spirit with the same passion and integrity.

Thank you for visiting my little corner of the world. Whether you’re here for my art, eggs, or simply to learn more about life on the homestead, I hope you’ll feel the warmth and authenticity that define The Pink Hen.

Meet the Girls

  • I am a mixed media artist, meaning I work with multiple different mediums. Primarily you will see my mediums consist of digital, acrylic and pen & ink.

  • Yes we do! Check out the ‘EGGS’ tab when you hover over ‘SHOPPING’ to view prices and delivery options!

  • The chickens start their lives in the warmth and safety of the farmhouse, eventually to transition outside to the coop and are gradually integrated with the rest of the flock.

Every day, the hens are given fresh water and feed before they are free to roam the property in search of yummy, nutritous snacks. They find things like bugs, worms, shoots and berries while taking the occasional dust bath. We believe happy hens lay the tastiest eggs!

We never use any antibiotics or hormones with our hens, so you can rest assured that your eggs are clean and sustainable.
